...on a beautiful, sunny walk along the Thames this afternoon.

Four lazy days in the extreme southwest of England! We have always wanted to explore Cornwall properly. In the past we have only managed short forays (Lost Gardens of Heligan, Eden Project). So after a very busy season at St James (with the Global Leadership Summit last weekend as the finale) we decided to book a hotel room in St Ives with a beautiful view of the harbour. It is fascinating to sit in the little bay (below) and watch how the light and weather changes the scenery - and the weather can change very quickly here! We got soaked on our way back from the Tate Gallery (St Ives branch) yesterday. Today we walked from Lizard Point to Kynance Cove. Lizard Point is the southernmost point in Britain. Kynance Cove (2 1/2 miles of stunning coastal path) must be one of the most beautiful spots on this island. And the weather played along very nicely, too. Vier faule Tage im Südwesten Englands! Wir wollten schon seit einiger Zeit einmal Cornwall ordentlich erkunden. In der Vergangenheit hat es nur für Stippvisiten ("Lost Gardens of Heligan", "Eden Projekt") gereicht. Nach einer sehr arbeitsreichen Phase bei St James (mit einer Leiterschaftskonferenz letztes Wochenende als Finale) haben wir uns ein Hotelzimmer in St Ives gegönnt - mit direkten Blick auf den Hafen! Man kann hier nur sitzen und beobachten wie Licht und Wetter die Szenerie verändern (Regenbogen eingeschlossen). Und das Wetter kann sich hier sehr schnell ändern, wie wir klatschnass feststellen konnten auf unserem Heimweg gestern von der Tate Gallerie (St Ives). Heute wanderten wir vom südlichsten Punkt Englands (Lizard Point) bis zur Kynance Bucht: zweieinhalb Meilen atemberaubender Küstenpfad (manchmal wortwörtlich atemberauben: bergauf, bergab und ein stürmischer Wind der manchmal buchstäblich die Sprache verschlägt). Kynance Cove muss einer der schönsten Flecken in England sein, und das Wetter spielte auch wunderbar mit. Zeit zum Seele baumeln lassen!
